A Poem for Scruff
I came across a photograph of you
whilst searching through a cupboard seldom used
and you,
your smiling face was frozen there in time,
A time when parting far away and summer days were full of fun
and walks with you in meadows deep with hay
And buttercups grew tall n’ all around
And you,
Your smiling face looked back at me
Yet in your eyes a far away and distant look.
It was a look, a meaningful and longing look with sadness there, un-noticed at the time,
Your face.
Your face.
This time I really saw your face..
So long ago when summer days were filled with love and fun.
