Renaissance 2, 36 Town End, Golcar

The Golcar Calendar is now available from Renaissance 2.

Picture framing including artwork, photographs, cross-stitch, football shirts, souvenirs. Greetings cards including hand-made, art-based and local scenes. Cards can be personalised at no extra cost or designed just for you with your own pictures and words.

A range of local, organic and Fairtrade foodstuffs including Lily Pickles of Holmfirth traditional pickles and chutneys and Suma wholefoods. A growing range of gluten free foods is now available.

Your own pictures can be reproduced and printed, old photos restored and re-printed.

Golcar Band

Band Rehearsals on Mondays 6:15 - 7:30 for Training Band and 7:30 to 9:30 for Senior Band.

 


Golcar Scout Group

The group is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year with a ceremony at the Community Centre on 23rd July.

The Scouts will be holding a Craft Fair on the evening of Friday 25th November 2011.

Holiday Chalet in France

A new group "Friends of St John the Evangelist" has been formed to keep the church alive and useful.

Golcar Lily Day Environment Group


This group works tirelessly throughout the year to improve our locality:
*the group organises regular litter picks. It has been awarded a new litter bin by Keep Britain Tidy for collecting the most litter in Kirklees' Big Tidy Up event
*in January, it held a coffee morning to raise funds for bat and bird boxes to go around the village
*with money raised at last year's Golcar Lily Day, additional plaques for the ginnel trail have been purchased
*a new notice board has been put up in Town End car park and a finger post in Jubilee Square
*funding from Kirklees Environment Agency has been used to update the ginnel walk leaflets
